This Specialization serves as an introduction to Business English, where you will learn to communicate about topics such as management, finance and marketing. You will also write proposals, executive summaries, and marketing materials. Applied Learning Project

A common necessity among business professionals who are new to an international work environment is the ability to create a plan of action to launch a new product. In this task, one has to communicate with many different departments within a company including finance and marketing. In this capstone project, you will create a plan of action to launch a new product. This plan will include:

· A project status report

· A copy of the marketing campaign

· A basic budget analysis for the project

· A short presentation for upper management with details on the project’s status

This project will give you the opportunity to apply your English skills learned in the courses to develop a useful document for your current job or a document that you could use as an example to demonstrate your new abilities and skills.

What background knowledge is necessary?
This specialization was designed for business professionals and executives with an intermediate level of English. This means you can hold basic conversations in English, you can read, understand, and write simple emails, and you can understand some of what you hear in the English language news.
More specifically, your linguistic competence can be measured by your scores on the TOEFL iBT or IELTS exams. A minimum score of 4 on the IELTS exam or 31 or higher on the TOEFL iBT exam indicate an intermediate level. (Obtaining official test scores is not necessary to participate in the specialization. These scores serve only as a point of reference for learners.)
Do I need to take the courses in a specific order?
It is not required that you take the courses in the order they are presented. However, the course "Business English: Management and Leadership" is a good introduction to the rest of courses in this specialization.
Will I earn university credit for completing the Specialization?
The courses and the Coursera certificate are not equivalent to university credits, although some universities may recognize them. Check with your institution for more information.
What will I be able to do upon completing the Specialization?
Read and write information related to business communications using up-to-date terminology. Understand the vocabulary currently used in leadership, management, and finance.
